Flood Warning issued August 3 at 9:52AM CDT until August 3 at 2:00PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL
AREAS AFFECTED: Cleburne, AL
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following county, Cleburne. * WHEN...Until 200 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 949 AM CDT, emergency management reported several roadways remain flooded. Local rivers are beginning to rise due to recent rainfall. Flooding is already occurring. Between 5 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Heflin, Ranburne, Fruithurst, Edwardsville, Abernathy, Lake Cleburne, Trickem, I 20 Welcome Center and Sweetwater Lake.
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
