DESCRIPTION: At 403 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Avon, or 8 miles north of Geneseo, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Honeoye Falls, Macedon, Canandaigua, Fishers, Livonia, Victor, Industry, Gorham, South Lima, and Lima. This includes the following highways... Interstate 390 between exits 8 and 11. Interstate 90 between exits 43 and 45.
INSTRUCTION: Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
