AREAS AFFECTED: Haskell, TX
DESCRIPTION: At 653 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Weinert, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Haskell County, including the following locations... Us- 277 Near The Haskell-Knox County Line.
INSTRUCTION: A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for west central Texas. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.
